Ok, I think I have got to grips with my new website and I'm really pleased with it. I have been working hard on getting it all up together, but there has been no let up in the kitchen and there have been cakes a plenty going out!
A couple of weeks ago I had an order that, I'll be honest, I was terrified about - a horses head! It was the kind of cake that you can't do any prep for, so on the day of reckoning, I went for it! The result was better than I could ever have dreamed, I was so pleased. As was the customer, I've had lovely comments from the customer who ordered it and from her daughter, who had it as a suprise - she was expecting a cake from Asda! Here are the photos I took during the process:
The horse is called Morgan by the way, I hope you like him!
I've had various other novelty cakes, all the photos can be seen in my galleries. I had a very pretty cake to do too though, which I instantly loved and again, the customer was over the moon. The recipient was speechless and tears were definitely spotted in her eyes by all accounts! Again, the full picture can be seen in the celebration cake gallery, but here is a close up of the anemones. The cake was a rich 8" fruit cake.
June 14th 2013 is a very special date in this house. My son will get his 5 year all clear from Leukaemia! He was diagnosed in 2005 aged 3 and his treatment finished in 2008. To celebrate I am having a cupcake day to raise money for CLIC. Boxes of 4 cupcakes are available to order, with half the cost of each box going to CLIC. The following flavours are available:
Turkish delight (£5)
Lemon meringue (£5)
Rocky Rd (£6)
Chocolate orange (£6)
Contact me if you'd like to order a box, or two!
